We will be holding a fundraiser Saturday, March 13, at Rookies Sports Grill and Bar from 1-5 pm. Curt's softball team is going to donate at least 50% of all profits made to him to go towards the many medical bills that he will soon be receiving.
Curt is now resting at home as his remarkable recovery from his stroke continues. He is referred to as the Miracle Patient by the nurses at the Heart Hospital, but he still will be needing speech therapy and will be out of work.
The fundraiser has been in the works since a couple days after Curt's stroke, however Tom didn't want to post anything until he received permission from Curt and Jen that they are comfortable with us doing this for them. In typical Curt Vlaminck fashion, his main concern was that their team would still be taken care of for league fees and uniform expenses. Therefore, they came to a decision that 50% of all profits up to an agreed upon amount will go directly to Curt. We will then donate 100% of all profits after that privately agreed upon amount directly to Curt and Jenny to go towards the portion of bills that insurance will not pick up.
This will ensure that if the event is an overwhelming success, Curt will receive a high percentage of the profits. It also ensures that our team will still make a modest profit, per Curt's wishes.
Tickets will be $10 and can be bought from any of the Rookies Team Razzo players, or at the door. There will be more details for the event itself later, as we hope to add a few things to make this an even better event. We are still in the early planning stages, as I felt it was crucial to have Curt’s approval before getting too far along in the process.
